"Flowers in a Vase"

JEANETTE DYKMAN (born in 1938) is a renowned South African painter celebrated for her exquisite still-life paintings, particularly of roses.

Her works have been showcased in prominent exhibitions in South Africa, Europe, and the USA and are held in several esteemed collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

The oil painting on board, is surrounded by a beautiful, heavy, gilded frame.

This particular painting, doesn't seem to be typical to her usual bright and colourful collection so perhaps it could come from her earlier days, during a "darker mood" per se.

*Unfortunately the frame does have some damage and can be refurbished.

*The painting itself, sadly has a scratch/mark, above the flowers.

These are probably all due to age and the history of moving around.
