Delosperma is a rather large genus of succulents with over 100 species. It can be found from southern South Africa, up to Zimbabwe and even as far as Arabia. Most of the species are subshrubs or of a trailing habit. This genus also boasts the most frost resistant mesembs, Delosperma cooperi and D. nubigenum. They will survive -17°C or even less. In general, plants from this genus are to a lesser degree susceptible to overwatering. Delosperma sutherlandii are trailing mesembs, forming mounds with pink/magenta flowers with white centres.  Analyses have indicated that many Delosperma sp. contains quite substantial amounts of DMT and N-methyltryptamine in the leaves and branches "River & Pilet 1971". This particular species often seeming quite rich (according to Gnostic Gardens catalog).
