Rand Stadium (25mm hard enamel button-hole badge)

Commemorating Opening Rand Stadium 23rd March 1951 Southern Transvaal Football Association.

Even though the Rand Stadium had a complete make-over in 2009 for the 2010 World Cup, with an all-seater stadium, the old scoreboard was retained for heritage purposes. The Rand Stadium is currently the training venue for Orlando Pirates F.C.

Condition: Excellent (see all photos).


Castle Cup (32mm x 18mm stick pin badge). This badge was electro-plated with colour inset. A small section of the plating has come off, but this badge is an extremely rare item.

The NFL Cup (widely known as the Castle Cup due to its sponsorship from Castle Lager SAB) was the association football cup competition of the National Football League in South Africa under Apartheid. It was established in 1959 and disbanded in 1977. Highlands Park won the cup six times during this period.

Condition: Apart from the small section of silver plating coming away, it is in very good condition (see all photos).


Old Arcadians F.C. (16mm x 15mm stick pin hard enamel badge)

Old Arcs F.C. were formed in 1957 and became Jewish Guild in 1960.

Condition: Excellent (see all photos).


Jewish Guild F.C. (26mm x 26mm hard enamel brooch-style badge)

Jewish Guild Johannesburg Football pin badge (formed in 1960 from Old Arcs). Makers name, McCallum Cape Town, on reverse.

In 1960, the Old Arcs (the home was founded in 1897) asked Jewish Guild to run their football team. From then on the club now renamed Jewish Guild went from strength to strength. In May 1974 George Best turned out for Jewish Guild F.C. while still only 27 years old.

Highlands Park F.C. (3 badges: two 26mm x 26mm hard enamel brooch-style Supporters Club badges and one Highlands Park footballer stick pin).

Highlands Park were founded (from the Balfour Park amateur club) in November 1959, and were champions of the old National Football League eight times. The record home attendance at Balfour Park Stadium was set at the match against Durban City in 1963, when 13,500 spectators watched a 30 victory for Highlands. The club was sold to Jomo Sono in 1983, who renamed the club Jomo Cosmos F.C.

Durban City F.C. (Two stick pin badges)

Durban City F.C. was formed in 1959 by Norman Elliott, and was dissolved in 1988.

Durban United F.C. (Two hard enamel pin badges)

Durban United Football Club was founded    in 1970. Their homeground was at New Kingsmead stadium in Durban.

Condition: Good (see all photos).


Boksburg F.C. (Two hard enamel pin badges)

Boksburg F.C. was founded in 1960. Their home ground was at Prince George Park in Boksburg.

Condition: Excellent (see all photos).


Bloemfontein City F.C. (Two hard enamel pin badges)

Bloemfontein City F.C. was founded in 1963 and their home ground was at Springbok Park in Bloemfontein.

Southern Suburbs F.C. (One hard enamel pin badge)

Southern Suburbs F.C. was founded in 1961.

Condition: Good (see all photos).


Olympia F.C. (One hard enamel pin badge)

Olympia F.C. was founded in 1965 at the Italian Sporting Club in Johannesburg.

Western Province Football Association (WPFA) (33mm x 33mm hard enamel brooch-style badge)

The WPFA was based at Hartleyvale Stadium in Observatory, Cape Town.

Kaiser Chiefs F.C. (One hard enamel pin badge and one epoxy-coated pin badge with Butterfly Clasp Clutch on the back).

Kaiser Chiefs F.C. was founded in 1970.

Condition: Excellent (see all photos).


Orlando Pirates F.C. (One soft enamel pin badge with Butterfly Clasp Clutch on the back).

Orlando Pirates F.C. was founded in 1937 as the Orlando Boys Club. Known as The Buccaneers, they are a South African professional football club based in Orlando, Soweto, and play their home games at the Orlando Stadium.

Botswana Football Association (One hard enamel stick pin badge)

The Botswana F.A. was established in 1966.

Nigeria Football Association (One hard enamel brooch-style pin badge).

The Nigeria Football Association was founded in 1945.

Lesotho Sports Association (One hard enamel stick pin badge).

The Lesotho Football Association was founded in 1932.

African Cup of Nations South Africa 1996 (One hard enamel pin badge with Butterfly Clasp Clutch on the back).

South Africa won their first African Cup of Nations title, beating Tunisia 20. The match was attended by both then-president Nelson Mandela, deputy president F. W. de Klerk. The 1996 African Cup of Nations was the 20th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Premier Soccer League South Africa (4 x pin badges with Butterfly Clasp Clutches on the backs)

The South African Premier Division is the premier men's professional soccer league and the highest division in the league system of South Africa, organised since 1996.
