A rare (not listed) variation of the 'Staats-Artillerie' badge. A pressed badge, of two part (in the same manner as the artillery officer's helmet plates) construction, gilt and enamel, with the regalia of the Zuid-Afrikaansche Republic. ZAR and Anglo-Boer War period (with the centre flag in front), possibly worn as a slouch or cap badge by one of the Volunteer Corps.
