This item is an authentic South African School Cadets cap badge.
The design features a springbok South Africas national animal and a long-standing symbol across military and sporting insignia. The scroll beneath carries text in both English (SCHOOL CADETS) and Afrikaans (SKOOL KADETTE), reflecting the bilingual era of its use.

Made from white metal, this badge was issued to members of the School Cadet Corps, a system that provided basic military training to high school learners. It was commonly worn from the post-WWII period through to the early 1990s. A well-known and collectable piece of South African uniform history.
