South African Studio Pottery Vase J Thoren Dated 12-5-1950 Kimberley
Beautiful hand-thrown South African studio pottery vase with rich deep oxblood red glaze and moulded figural relief decoration.
This rounded form features raised scenes of figures in traditional dress, surrounded by stylised foliage. The glaze has lovely tonal variation from deep ruby to softer crimson highlights, giving the piece warmth and depth.
