Soweby Basket Weave Glass Plate . 1880s?

Here is a Vitrio Porcelain Glass Basket Weave Posy basket, manufactured by the Sowerby Company in Gateshead.   They were in bussiness from 1760 -1950s.   Sowerby were the first company to perfect this technique and this blue colour  was the first  produced.   The peacock mark underneath was inspired by the Sowerby family crest and this, together with the colour dates these baskets to about 1880.   This is in a good condition for something of this age but has  2 chips on back rim.     Measures 215mm in diameter.    A small slice of history.
