Spanish 8-Reales (1741) from the Reigersdaal Shipwreck

The coin comes with an old photocopy of a certificate as per the picture below.

The Reigersdaal (also spelt Reijgersdaal) is one of South Africa's most famous treasure shipwrecks.

It was built in 1738 in Amsterdam and sunk near Dassen Island on our West Coast in 1747.

Jongeling Numismatics & Ancient Art in the Netherlands currently has a graded same dated (1741) piece on offer for 995 Euros (R20 500).
