Joy Clark was born in Namibia in 1958. She worked as a Lay-out Artist in various Printing companies, until she decided to set up her own Ceramic Studio which was very successful for 25 years. Her work was shown at Annual Exhibitions in Kwambonambi & Richards Bay & Durban, KZN. Throughout the years there has always been a keen interest in all art forms as well as Sewing, Fabric Painting, Bear-making & Quilting. She spent a few years teaching Bear-making Skills and Quilting in Richards Bay.
After a series of Art Courses and Workshops with tremendous encouragement & support from various teachers Joy is now fully devoted to Painting. Her favorite medium is oil paint, but she has experience with watercolors and she enjoys acrylic paint due to the texture achieved with palette knife and impasto technique. She has partaken in a number of Group Exhibitions in Port Shepstone and Richards Bay and Kwambonambi in KZN and has won a number of prizes in various shows.
Painting is a continuous path of learning and experimenting with color and technique. Joy is influenced by the sound of the sea & beauty that surrounds her in Kini Bay in the Eastern Cape where she lives. She enjoys painting Still Life, Flower Studies, Landscape, Seascapes and also does Portraits on Commission (from photographs). Her aim in all things is to 'do what you do well' - and as you can see by her ratings, she has a long list of happy customers.
She started selling her work on Bidorbuy in 2011 at affordable prices, in order to fund her canvas and paint. Her biggest inspiration is knowing that her customers are satisfied and happy with their purchases!
A NOTE FROM JOY:
"A big THANK YOU to all Bidorbuy Clients who have supported me during this adventure"
