Special Forces/Recce Operator badge - (silver) - not numbered / unissued

This is a precise /exact restrike from the Special Forces/Recce Operator silver badge.

This badge is almost identical to the 5th type chrome badge. It can be compared with pictures of badges pasted below.

Not many silver badges were awarded. Most badges that I`ve seen were chrome-plated, but I know of at least 4x Operators that were issued with the silver variation.

The silver badges have a slight visible spine running down the centre of the blade, while the spine on the chrome badge is invincible.

This badge is in good condition. The extreme shine on the obverse of the badge is due to the lighting and flash. Look at the picture below and judge for yourself. 

Not numbered - unissued. Pins are still intact.

This badge was not stolen and I obtained it legitimately.

For information only: Beneath is a photo of a display at Special Forces Museum of the 5x different types of Operator badges. 3 badges in chrome (issue 1, 3 & 5) and 2 badges in silver (issue 2 & 4). The chrome badges are current issue.

Below are 2 different artcards. The picture below shows the 1st design artcard that was approved in 1983. Below the 1983 artcard, is the Heraldic approved "amended & improved" (2nd design) artcard of the Operator badge dated 1985.

Variants exist in the badge, because over the years different tenders for manufacture were awarded and also due to the amendment of the artcard in 1985. However the first batch of badges were only issued in 1985.
