Specimen Bank Note Set of the Central Bank of Malta of 1979

Collector specimen sets of paper money were issued in 1978-1980 with the cooperation of the Franklin Mint and Thomas de la Rue Ltd of London. The specimen sets were authorized by the issuing authority and all bears Maltese cross prefixes.

(Thomas de la Rue Ltd of London started as a company in 1821. In 1855 it started printing postage stamps and in 1860 banknotes. It is a company well known to South African Philatelists, having been the typographers of the first stamps of the old Union of South Africa).

The set is complete and all the notes are in crisp uncirculated condition as per the following pictures.
