Official Programme ( number 284 ) , 'Speed the Victory Fair' , held at Zoo Lake,  JHB,  Nov 25th - Dec 2 nd  1944, original, in aid of war funds, foreword by Field Marshall Smuts,  Union Defense Force exhibits & events, key plan of fair, 52 pages, illustrated, period advertisments, 21.5 cms x 28 cms, wear & tear with some loss to covers, otherwise condition: very good.

With victory in sight for the allies in WWII, this major event was organised in JHB to raise war funds (unspecified) for the troopies. With an international air, stands from allied countries are present, there is of course room for the 'non-european creche', the 'native restaurant' & the 'native creche'.

A numbered programme (284) of an unspecified run, at 2/6 not a triffle. A snapshot of the social construct in the 'middle-classes' of JHB in the later stages of WWII.
