SPINACH VIROFLAY – TRUE SPINACH

Spinacia oleracea 'Viroflay'.

This very large spinach plant grows to 45-60 cm tall. Of all the spinaches, this one is lowest in oxalic acid, so its leaves are sweet and stay sweet as the plant matures.

Viroflay is known for growing to a height of approximately 60 cm This variety tends to bloom in late spring. Plant in seedling trays (see our Plastic Seedling Trays) and transplant when large enough to handle.

Plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to apply water fairly sparingly. Viroflay tends to grow best in a soil ph of between 6.0 and 7.0 meaning it does best in acidic to neutral soil. Viroflay will benefit from compost. Does not like heat, so plant early.
