Spode Demitasse Cup and Saucer

The Blue Bird pattern from Spode originated in the 1950s and was produced from 1958 to 1990. The number S3274 identifies this pattern. Research indicates the following:

"The new coloring used a rich ultramarine blue, rich yellow and blue after the style of traditional Dutch tin-glazed ware. It is this version which was named Blue Bird and produced on the Marlborough shape. The design originates from a pattern dating from about 1838."
