A Spode bone china thimble to commemorate the visit of Pope John Paul II to Britain in 1982.  The thimble is predominantly gilded with the papal crests, interspersed with decorative maroon-purple panels which contain further symbols such as keys and a cross.  The top of the thimbles is also maroon and gold forming a cross.


It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration, and stands 25mm high.
