'SPRING FLOWER FIELDS'

Sharon Aurets

Unframed

Acrylic on board

38 x 29cm

I was born into an artistic family in Durban in 1960 and have been painting for as long as I can remember.  I matriculated in 1977 with Art as one of my main subjects.  After qualifying in Fashion Design, I opened by own clothing business and continued to paint as a hobby.  Most of my commissions have been backdrops and murals.  The past three years have seen me move more to painting pictures.  I enjoy working on country scenes and love flowers.  Light, colour and water fascinate me and I get totally lost in each creation.  I live with my husband and the youngest of our four children, on a smallholding in Lidgetton, KwaZulu Natal.  Inspiration comes easily.  I have the privilege of working from a little log cabin, surrounded by my farm animals, children and grandchildren, all set in the beautiful surround of the Natal Midlands.  My husband and I also run a Community Development Project in our local village.  We strive to live a simple balanced life and have found peace, fulfullment and joy in all that we do.
