Boards sunned. Small stain to head of spine, rubbed, with 10mm cracks on either side of spine along the hinges. Small scuff marks to top edge. Spine heavily sunned, lightly stained, but author name, title and publisher still legible. Heel of spine rubbed, scuffed but not chipped. Corners rubbed. Front and rear panels sunned. Front endpapers age-toned, foxed. Owner name inscription in pen. Light foxing of dedication page, frontispiece, title page. Small 5mm closed tear p.5; closed tears 20mm into top edge of rear fly leaf and free endpaper; 30mm tears along hinges of rear fly leaf top and bottom; 20mm tear along hinge of rear free endpaper at hinge, with small stain. Rear endpapers age-toned, foxed, with inscription in pencil. Binding secureno loose or missing pages. One or two isolated instances of foxing but on the whole text block is clean; no inscriptions, no underlining or highlighting, no annotations or marginalia.
