This paintball marker is likely one of our favourites here in the store, loose-handed one of the markers with the highest muzzle velocity possible on the market, coupled w/ one of our highest spring upgrades possible for the SPYDER series of markers, will readily allow for muzzle velocities of 400 ~ 500, even 550 FPS w/ our 77gr TRIPLE TWIST slugs in conjunction w/ our ASSAULT spring!
Firing the rifle in this way, allows for accuracies the likes of which a decade ago, was the pipe dream of paintball marker owners - Even at 30 meters, you can get a very respectable grouping for a paintball marker - this certainly does give new meaning to adding a red dot onto your paintball marker!
Though, let's get started on one end w/ this rifle. Firstly, this marker does have an overall 90's ARMALITE M4 appearance - 5 point collapsible CAR-15 buttstock w/ pyramidical checkering over its backpad. This is fastened w/ the supplied 1/8" allen key. The lower receiver is polymer, as is the handle, though the latter features a textured rubber overlay w/ smooth finger grooves. This of course, is like a one-piece grip stock, that can be removed and replaced later, if so desired. The ASA sits affixed at the bottom of the pistol grip and feeds directly via a black braided gas line into SPYDER's proprietary EKO VALVE (which boasts 1600 shots per 20 oz CO2 tank) Alot of people do dislike the external gas line featured on most SPYDER markers, because of its vulnerability, however, w/ some tinkering magic, you can removed ASA from its position and make a plan to affix it elsewhere on the rifle..
The safety on this rifle is your typical SPYDER push-through type (leftward is FIRE, denoted by the visible red O-ring and rightward is SAFE. Please familiarize yourself with this.) The AR-15 rotational lever (safety selector) is just moulded-in on this rifle and lends a little authentic feel to the rifle.
The handguard here is a bit bigger than your G.I. standard type, though it does look realistic w/ the delta nut moulded in. The bottom of this handguard has a Picatinny (MIL STD 1913) rail that stretches the length of the handguard where you can mount a vertical foregrip, cantilevered foregrip, even an offset flashlight mount ring too, to accomodate a flashlight.
In front of the handguard, there is a double hole intended for a sling loop, although this rifle isn't supplied w/ one, like you'd have at the toe of the buttstock. The barrel end features a very fancy muzzle break w/ nice big vents to accomodate for higher gas outputs. It does properly strip the air off of fast-propelling shots and definitely helps accuracy. This muzzle brake likewise, CAN thread off and be replaced w/ a silencer or other muzzle brake device, should one so choose...
The top of the handle has a hole through, so you can utilize this carry handle as a 'rail riser' so to say, so you can mount something like the UTG® AR15 CARRY HANDLE RAIL MOUNT, 12 SLOT, STANAG through this hole and have a Picatinny rail provided ontop to mount a red dot sight like the UNBRANDED 1X30 RED DOT SIGHT on, which allows you both-eyes-open target acquisition, especially at night, when open sights aren't as effective. Otherwise, the hopper elbow is semi-permanently engaged from the upper receiver and can be removed w/ the included 1/8" allen key. The cover plate that comes w/ the MRX does fit onto this marker, however, this marker is not supplied standard with one. We're busy working on something in the meantime for that - to basically create a flush, more realistic rifle appearance if you intend on only running MAG-FED.
The barrel is likewise a full 14 inches, so this further increases the utility of a stronger spring. It was almost like this gun was designed for a power upgrade.
Just a note on the magazines (this rifle is supplied w/ 2x of them)
