Square Stoneware Oven / Serving Dish

Made at Kolonyama Pottery in Lesotho, this beauty is of an era, decorated in the Anglo-Chinese tradition popularised in the UK mid-twentieth century. The glazing indicates that it was likely reduction-fired. It's being offered cheap because of some chopping around the rim (please study the photographs carefully). These kinds of items are simply not being produced in any significant way anywhere anymore, and are delights to the lovers of yesteryear's studio ceramics.

This piece measures 23cm by 24cm, and is 6cm deep. Ordinary to the untrained eye. A story in clay to those who know. A lovely thing!
