- A study on caffeine anhydrous, an adenosine receptor antagonist, showed 11% extra energy expenditure by norepinephrine.

- In a 12 week study on 15 obese men the use of coleus forskoli realized an average of 4.5 kg fat loss and an increase of 3.7kg lean mass (Godard MP, Body Composition and Hormonal Adaptations associated with Forskolin use in overweight men.
