Staffordshire Pottery Hen on Nest Gold Gilt Antique c 1870 RARE

Victorian, circa 1870. Staffordshire Pottery egg tureen and cover featuring a hen sitting with her eggs. White and gilt version with bright gilt base line and embellishment. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Approx size: 25 x 20 x 18cm
Condition: Some rough areas due to firing and age grazing, which looks more enhanced by the camera than with the naked eye. Appears like a hairline crack on one side of the tail feathers. Tiny chip to end of beak. The gold gilt is still in very good condition.
