Stanley no.4 smoothing plane.

On offer, a boxed Stanley no.4 smoothing plane.  The box is a bit tatty and one cheek has 

superficial marking.  The handles are the strong plastic ones which Stanley England later

switched to.  Hence this is not for the romantic collector, it is a little workhorse.  I felt the handles,

and having owned over 500 handplanes, cannot fault the feel,  I suspect that although it is not

a personal favourite of mine, that they would probably stand up better to blows than the 

traditional wood handles.

The plane is near-new in all aspects, so a good acquisition.

Note slight marking on lower cheek.

With our current Postal strikes being on and off as they wish, an alternate method of

postage on this would cost R120-00 via Postnet.  Please make sure that there is a

Postnet near you if you decide to go this route.  I have found their service good.
