THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL LITTLE SILVER AND JADE BUTTER KNIFE (OR POSSIBLY A PAPER KNIFE). IT IS A SOUVENIR OF TIMARU IN NEW ZEALAND AND WAS PROBABLY MANUFACTURED EARLY IN THE 20th CENTURY. IT IS 15 cm LONG AND IS VERY ATTRACTIVE AND BOTH THE HANDLE AND BLADE ARE GENERALLY STILL IN GOOD CONDITION (IN THIS REGARD SEE THE LAST IMAGE BELOW).

Pattern.

THERE IS A BEAUTIFUL FLORAL PATTERN ENGRAVED ON THE BLADE AS WELL AS THE WORD 'TIMARU'.

Markings.

THE BLADE IS STAMPED 'STERLING SILVER.'

Condition.

NOTE THAT THERE IS A SMALL CRACK IN THE SILVER AT THE TOP OF THE VERY END SECTION WHICH HOLDS THE HANDLE. IT IS INDICATED IN THE IMAGE WITH AN ARROW. THIS CAUSES A BIT OF LOOSENESS OF THE HANDLE (IT SWIVELS SLIGHTLY UP AND DOWN).
