The extreme detailing of this brooch is to be admired. Crafted of sterling silver, the pin personifies Rangda, often called the queen of witches. A famed character in the traditional Balinese Barong dance, as always she is depicted with unkempt hair, wild eyes, a protruding tongue and gnashing teeth. Oxidized contrasts define the artist's detailed work.
