Thirty-five years ago, in 1978, the Africana Commemorative Mint issued the Cape Heritage set commemorating the coins that circulated in South Africa in the very early years of our country.

Each proof coin weighs 37.3 grams and is 45.0 mm in diameter (much larger and heavier than a Silver Crown or Full Kruger Rand). It is struck in Sterling Silver (92.5% pure silver) and coated in gold.

Because people collect different themes and eras, I have decided to sell the coins separately:- The one you are bidding on here is still in its original protective display envelope and the Spanish Piece-of-Eight of 1691.
