HARMONY BALL PENDANT HANDCRAFTED STERLING SILVER CAGE GOLD INNER 'TINKLE' BALL ON LONG STERLING SILVER CHAIN

Harmony Balls have been popular items of jewellery for millennia. The history of the Harmony Ball can be traced back through the years as part of traditional jewellery in civilisations ranging from Mexico to Indonesia where they found huge popularity with moms-to-be. In modern times, they have become a fun and unusual item of jewellery fashion, attracting attention and conversation. Today, it is often described as an "Angel Caller". This rather beautiful harmony ball is quite large (20 mm diameter) and features an intricately designed openwork cage exterior that opens on a click hinge to reveal a separate gold coloured inner ball. When moved slightly, the inner ball emits a beautiful tinkling sound, rather like a gentle wind chime. It measures 29 mm (almost 3 cm) from top of bale to bottom of Harmony ball and weighs 16,4 grams. The bale is particularly solid, measuring 2 mm across the top, 5 mm x 6mm inside the loop from top to bottom, allowing even a thick chain to pass through it. The ball comes on a lovely long sterling silver twisted rope design chain of 64 cm (640mm).
