Aksel Holmsen (1873 - 1962) came from Sandefjord, Norway. He attended the world-renowned David Andersen in the years 1889-1892. He continued working with David Andersen after completing the training. In 1904, he founded a silver and enamel workshop at Storgaten 7 in Oslo, Norway. Recognized as a highly prized clean modernist design and masterpiece enameled work.
Son Ivar joined the company in 1942 and took over the management in 1950. The company was closed in 1971.
