Sterling silver Art Deco era Morpho butterfly wing brooch, likely originating from England during the 1920s to 1930s.The brilliant, iridescent blue-green shimmer is made from the authentic wing of a Blue Morpho butterfly, native to Central and South America. The unique microscopic structure of the wing scales reflects light to create a natural, holographic glowThe silhouette of the multi-sailed merchant ship or galleon is meticulously reverse-painted on the inside of the protective glass cabochon covering. The red, yellow, and green sails stand out sharply against the iridescent "sea" and "sky" of the wing. 
The brooch is made of 925 sterling silver as per picture.
