Resonant Controller, 8.85 V to 16 V in, NSOIC-16Product OverviewThe L6599AD is an improved high-voltage Resonant Controller provides 50%complementary duty cycle, the high-side switch and the low-side switch aredriven ON/OFF 180° out-of-phase for exactly the same time. Output voltageregulation is obtained by modulating the operating frequency. A fixed dead-timeinserted between the turn-OFF of one switch and the turn-ON of the otherguarantees soft-switching and enables high-frequency operation. To drive thehigh-side switch with the bootstrap approach, the IC incorporates a high-voltagefloating structure able to withstand more than 600V with a synchronous-drivenhigh-voltage DMOS that replaces the external fast-recovery bootstrap diode. TheIC enables the designer to set the operating frequency range of the converter bymeans of an externally programmable oscillator.
