This set features the iconic French White fluted design, a classic kitchen staple since its introduction in 1978. These are stoneware versions, designed for elegant oven-to-table presentation. The set includes two matching dishes and two different Pyrex glass lids: one with a smooth finish and one featuring a decorative starburst pattern around the knob.
These dishes represent the later era of CorningWare production. The transition from the original "stovetop-safe" Pyroceram material to stoneware occurred in the late 1990s (around 1998/1999) after the brand was acquired by World Kitchen. Manufacturing moved to China during the early 2000s to expand the line.
Note on use: These are high-quality stoneware pieces intended for microwave and oven use only. They are not compatible with direct stovetop heat or broilers.
