Streets of Laredo by Larry McMurtry
It is a Western novel set in the aftermath of the American frontier era and serves as a sequel to Lonesome Dove. The story follows former Texas Ranger Captain Woodrow F. Call as he is hired to track down a young and dangerous outlaw named Joey Garza, whose violent crimes terrorize the expanding railroad towns of Texas and beyond. As Call pursues his mission, the novel also explores the aging of frontier heroes and the changing nature of the West, where lawlessness is being replaced by modern order and institutions. Alongside the central pursuit, the story follows multiple characters whose lives are shaped by loss, duty and the closing of the frontier era. Good condition. Softcover, 20cm x 13cm, 589 pages.
