BLACK TAHITIAN PEARL AND TWO-TONE '925' STELRING SILVER DANGLY STERLING SILVER EARRINGS
These earrings are really unusual. Genuine black Tahitian pearls form the centrepieces to sterling silver rings that hang down four deep from the bales. The entire earring is hallmarked '925' sterling silver with alternate rings finished in a gold tone. They are very long - 60mm - and being attached only by links, move beautifully, catching the light when you turn your head. The pearls are rather exotic in that they are an organic gem formed from the black lip oyster found primarily around the French Polynesian Islands. The darker Tahitian pearls (they range from black through to white) are rarer and more sought after and are therefore quite valuable. Only pearls grown in French Polynesia may be called "Tahitian Pearls".
