Scientific Name: Senecio rowleyanus
The String of Pearls plant looks just as it sounds, with round, succulent leaves carried down long, slender stems. They look more like peas than pearls, but this succulent is definitely a gem, and adorns Instagram and Pinterest Feeds from around the world.
Despite its delicate appearance, this unusual succulent house plant is a vigorous grower, quickly creeping across the surface of the pot, then cascading down the side.
Another proudly South African plant!
We've paired the String of Pearls with a locally crafted 12cm Red Burn Terracotta Pot. Add it to a Macrame Hanger for a 'trailing look' or place it on a shelf, to allow the strings to cascade down.
Follow these instructions to keep your String of Pearls healthy and happy:
Water: Water thoroughly, then allow to dry out slightly between waterings as they will not tolerate soggy soil.
Light: Bright Light with some direct sunlight.
Humidity: Average to dry humidity
Fertilize: Balanced Fertilizer diluted in half, once a month.
