Note to the buyer
Based on the high-resolution photos, here is my assessment of the condition and grading which is subjective and this is my opinion and based on my visual evidence Please note that "grading" was not done by any professional organisation or person but solely by my references to catalogues and other information. While I strive for accuracy, I cannot guarantee that all details and information are 100% correct.
Purchase decisions are made entirely at the buyers discretion.
Obverse (Front) Details:
The portrait shows significant wear on the high points (the cheek, the veil over the crown, and the hair above the ear), but the major features remain clear. The lettering in the legend is sharp and fully legible. There are minor surface scratches (bag marks) consistent with a coin that circulated briefly.
The Veil: On your coin, the area of the veil directly above the ear and crown has smoothed out.
The Eye and Ear: There is slight "flatness" on the eyebrow and the top of the earlobe.
Reverse (Back) Details:
The reverse is in better condition than the obverse. The oak leaves in the wreath show very crisp detail, and the crown above the "3" retains most of its fine lines. The fields (flat areas) show some light scuffing, but the overall eye appeal is high.
Surface Luster: An AU coin usually retains some "cartwheel" luster (that shimmering light that spins when you tilt the coin). This coin has a lovely, honest grey patina, which is classic for a solid specimen of this grade.
Authenticity:
I guarantee this coin to be authentic.
