Stunning Original Oil Painting 1 of 2 by Absmeier in Munich, Germany

Artist Mahn Absmeier, a well known German artist, had a flair for painting portraits and village scenery. His specific style of painting and tones used creates a calm but striking imagery.

The bulk of his paintings, such as this stunning piece on auction, was painted late 1940s to early 1950s. In this example, we have the portrait painted of countryman / farmer as depicted. On the back of the painting the artist refers to him in German (see photos!) and writes his own details and street address where he stayed in Munich at the time.
