Cubic Zirconia’s measure about 8.5 on the Mohs scale, which means that they are a lot harder than some of the actual gems that they represent, therefore they can take a lot more wear and tear than some of their original counter parts, thus lasting longer. There are some jewellers that can’t tell the difference between a cubic and the original, they have to send it to a gemmologist for identification.
