Stunning rare vintage Royal Copenhagen Baca vase

Vintage baca vase in alumina by Nils Thorsson for Royal Copenhagen, Denmark, in perfect condition.

The Baca Series was conceived by Nils Thorsson (1898-1975), he designed a number of the various basic forms and he developed the new silkscreen printing technique used for decoration in cooperation with the engineers at Aluminia. Baca instantly became a success and was in production from 1965 until 1996. It was to be the last of a large number of faience art series Thorsson developed for Aluminia.

The technique used was based on a silkscreen printing where one added Vanidin and/or different metallic salts to the colors. This causes the colors to slightly bubble and thereby creates a relief-effect. During the firing the colors may change and the small variations is one of the characteristics of the Baca series.

I prefer using recycled packaging materials as far as possible.
