Sui Generis - Pequeñas Anecdotas Sobre Las Instituciones CD

I genuinely believe this album stands alongside the great prog classics of the 70s like Red, Selling England by the Pound, Close to Edge, Pawn Hearts, ect. Charlie Garcia himself as an artist seems to have a legendary status as a musician, but in the Anglosphere and US he is unfortunately ignored. The classic status is deserved because of the quality of the songwriting and arrangements, which develops the folk-rock of their first two albums but combines it with the grandiose dynamism found in the best symphonic prog. One album that comes to mind is Harmonium's Les Cinq Saisons just in the sheer beauty of the instrumentation. Melodically the best moments of The Beatles are recalled, but these melodies are all contained with constantly evolving themes and passages that all come together perfectly. If you like prog, check this album out. If you like great songwriting and melodicism check this album out.
