Nasionale Pers, Bloemfontein, 1925. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. The green cloth-boards, black lettered to the upper panel and spine, are bumped at the extremities. The matching green endpapers are unmarked at the back but the front free endpaper carries an owner signature and stamp. The signature is repeated in pencil on the title-page. The 165 evenly toned text pp include a frontispiece, a pullout chart and 75 illustrations and maps, and are followed by several pages of advertisements. Despite cracks front and back, the binding remains firm. There are a number of loose inserts: a 4 pp list of agricultural pamphlets available in 1933; a flyer for "Farming in South Africa"; 2 cuttings from 1934 issues of the "Farmer's Weekly"; a delivery note for seed; and 2 letters of advice from Department of Agriculture officers in the Cape and the Transvaal.
