Super rare.......... This beautiful vintage Sargent No 418 fore hand plane with Stanley blade                                       1887 - 1950  In an excellent vintage condition

This plane is a real vintage beauty !!          

Sargent & Company of New Haven, Conn., produced and sold planes for an eighty year period from 1884 - 1964. They had a large production capability and made builder's hardware, locks and other hand tools, for both carpenters and mechanics.

Sometime after 1884 Sargent started manufacturing their own planes and in the 1888 catalog both Stanley and Sargent planes were included. At that time the Sargent Line consisted of 7 sizes of bench plane ( #'s 407, 408, 409, 414, 418, 422 & 422) along with 19 block planes.
