This Japanese Satsuma porcelain two-part buckle is encased in a metal backing, and features the distinctive cream glaze associated with Satsuma porcelain. The detailed enamel work showcases traditional Japanese scenes with intricate design, along with a deep dark blue border. Each buckle measures 5 x 5 cm, and has the maker's mark in Kanji characters impressed on the reverse side. This piece is in excellent condition.
