How does it work?
A turbine compresses and blows cold air into your intake manifold through your air filter. Much like a mechanical super-charger or Turbo the Electric trubine creates negative pressure behind your air filter which results in more air going into engine. The increased air flow improves volumetric efficency resulting in a standard 2.2Litre engine producing the same power and torque as a 2.5Litre engiine, without the increase of average fuel consumption of a 2.5Litre . The result is a increase in power and torque you can feel when the electric charger is on, and zero rise in fuel consumption when the unit is off. It can be controlled via toggle switch in your cab. The unit only creates power when you need it and ask for it by flipping the switch.
How does this compare to other performance mods, what can I expect to gain?
- Individual gains will always depend on the engine being "enhanced". If you drive a later model (96 and up) fuel injected car then you will experience a significant gain in power and torque throughout the rev range from the ST chip alone. This enhances the drive without even turning the super-charger on. The absolute best way to increase power and torque is to increase the amount of cold of going into the engine, kown as Volumetric effiecency
- How do I know it will work for my car?
- Modifications are made for each supercharger and performance chip so that perfect installation can be accomplished without any error codes being produced by the computer. When purchasing; make, model, engine size, and year of your vehicle must be specified after purchase
- What comes with my purchase?
- You will receive the electric supercharger of your choice (specific to your car), toggle switch, wire, air breather, and a ST performance chip to match. Everything (accept a K&N air filter) is included for a professional looking install. Full instructions are included for both the supercharger and performance chip installation. You will not need to get a performance air filter but for best results it is recommended to use one.
- Will this device harm my engine?
- No, the supercharger is completely safe for use on your vehicle. Full boost will not overstress your engine in any way. Maximum performance can be attained only when you need it. This can not be done with a traditional supercharger since a traditional supercharger cannot be turned off and on. The boost is equivalent to a low pressure turbo (roughly 0.3 Bar) which does not require intercolling since the there is not a lot of additioanal heat generated.
- Will this void my warranty?
No, not if the supercharger is uninstalled before scheduled maintenance. Engine wear is not increased, so detection is not possible even with the most advanced diagnostic equipment. Traditional superchargers will always void warranties. The ST chip is also easily removable and can be put back on very easily and quickly.
How difficult is the installation process?
Installation is extremely simple with the easy to follow instructions that are included with your supercharger. Only simple hand tools are required for this process. Made to be easy to install.
