THE COMPLETE SUPERMAN COLLECTION INCLUDING 'SUPERMAN RETURNS'!

SUPERMAN - THE MOVIE (Christopher Reeve)

Soaring even higher in a state-of-the-art digital transfer from restored elements and with dynamically remixed digital audio, The Academy Award winning adventure also now includes eight minutes inegrated into the film by director Richard Donner.

SUPERMAN II (Christopher Reeve)

This continuation of the adventures of the Man of Steel (Christopher Reeve) takes up where the original left off, showing spectacular new tricks to surpass it! Renegade survivors from Krypton threaten Earth with a space bomb. Lex Luthor and two dastardly accomplices take over the White House. Superman races to the rescue and undertakes a series of mighty struggles.

SUPERMAN III (Christopher Reeve)

Superman matches wits with an evil mastermind and a computer genius (Richard Pryor) who discovers the one substance that can harm the Man of Steel. Combining the known ingredients of Kryptonite with a guess at the unknown, the genius invents a new Kryptonite that doesn't kill Superman--it turns him evil. Meanwhile, a giant computer has been built for the mastermind that becomes self-aware and cannot be shut off. This entertaining combination of spectacular special effects and irrepressible comedy, once again directed by Richard Lester, features terrific madcap turns by Richard Pryor, Robert Vaughn, and Annette O'Toole and yet another majestic score by John Williams.

SUPERMAN - THE QUEST FOR PEACE (Christopher Reeve)

Superman does a lot in his newest adventure. Archvillain Lex Luthor, determined to make the world safe for nuclear arms merchants, creates a new being to challenge the Man of Steel: the radiation-charged Nuclear Man. The two super-powered foes clash in an explosive screen extranvaganza that sees Superman save the Statue of Liberty, repulse a volcanic eruption of Mount Etna, rebuild the demolished Great Wall of China and perform many more spetactular feats.

SUPERMAN RETURNS (Brandon Routh)

It's been 20 years since we saw the man of steel on the big screen, in 1987's Superman 4: Quest For Peace. That was quite a disappointment and made a mockery of everything that came before. But director Bryan Singer, after successfully revitalizing the superhero genre with his X-Men franchise, manages to bring Clark Kent and his alter ego into a new century with style and panache.

One of the constant problems with the previous installments of Superman were the unrealistic flying sequences, but now with the increased progression in computer generated imagery, in this new version it really looks like a man flying. And that's where this film really triumphs, there are some audacious action scenes (Superman, a space shuttle and a Boeing 747 in one rescue scene comes to mind), that have to be seen to be believed. Brandon Routh definitely looks the part, and handles his first major acting role very well, and it's nice to see Kevin Spacey, as Lex Luthor, for once not being too serious. To sum up then, a perfect way to introduce one of the greatest superheroes to a new generation of fans, it also boasts a tone that's not too light or too heavy-handed. A perfect family film then.
