This is the SUR ARMS ANSAR BRT model - a GLOCK 20 Gen 4 replica that does sit rather beefy in the hands, a little on the weighted end as well - typical of larger calibre pistols whose design is built around the calibre.

Despite the heft / bulk that this pistol packs, this pistol does have a striking amount of realistic features to it, that makes it a tad closer to a GLOCK firearm, compared to the RETAY G19C, for example. The pistol has no GLOCK licensing marks of any kind on it.
The frame features raised / deboss block checkering in a downwardly pattern. The backstrap is sloped like that on a GLOCK, allowing for an especially positive grip to the base of the handle, where most of the handling strength on the pistol lies. This, when firmly clenched, usually acts to support the upper of the hand, which counteracts the muzzle from climbing too much when discharging a firearm.
The finger rests on the upper of the handle work well to support both one's thumb and index finger.
Otherwise, the pistol grip features finger grooves as per the previous generations, gapped w/ centrifugal rows of horizontal stippling. These do feature sharp angles that clinches to one's finger, counteracting slippage / unintentional adjustment of one's grip around the front of the handle. The slide catch is all-metal and doesn't look super realistic, but works well. It has a square-ish look to it, but w/ a smooth texture.
The rear of the slide implies that the pistol would be striker fired, however, the pistol is in fact pseudo-striker fired, meaning it features an internal hammer that discharges the gun.
The field strip notches works similar to that found on the EKOL GEDIZ, in that, they have to be pushed down and held down, in order to hitch the slide off the rear of the frame. This pistol however, does require a bit of winging and effort to hitch it off the rear.
The sights are a little raised, which is nice and can be nice and intuitive to use.
Our overall impression of this pistol is positive and despite the beef this pistol carries, it certainly has a very robust feel to it. Like most of the blank guns by SUR ARMS - they may need a little break-in time before they will reliably cycle - just dry-cycle the pistol a number of times

| Ease of Field Strip | 4/10 - a Bit on the more difficult side here, we won't lie. The field strip tabs are really stiff, likely attributed to the spring tension they are under. To hitch the slide off, whilst holding these engaged, will take some practice to reliably accomplish, but can be had. It could be a good thing if you tend to borrow your stuff out, as the friend won't be able to strip your gun accidentally or otherwise. |
