Surf's Up (High Definition) (Blu-Ray) [New]

This is a real fun animated movie that can be enjoyed by people (and penguins!) of all ages.

A documentary crew tracks the life of Cody Maverick (Shia LaBeouf) a small rockhopper penguin residing in Shiverpool, Antarctica. Years before, legendary surfer Zeke "Big Z" Topanga (Jeff Bridges), had visited young Cody as a chick, and inspired him to become a famous and respected surfer himself.

Eventually spotted by talent scout Mickey Abromowitz (Mario Cantone), Cody is selected to participate in the important Big Z Surf Memorial Contest together with his Wisconsin friend, Chicken Joe (Jon Heder)...and much of the rest of the story deals with the hilarious preparations for the contest, as well as the event itself. While training, Cody meets Lani (Zooey Deschanel) a local lady lifesaver who is also receiving the attention of egotistical Tank Evans a big and brawny bad-attitude surfer.

The two most difficult things to animate have always been fire and water. Here, the water animation sets pinnacle off-the-chart standards that have to be seen to be believed! Marvellous stuff!
