SV7030NSis a mid-maturing, short day, red onion variety.  SV7030NSproduces firm, uniform, globe shaped bulbs with neat, thin necks.  SV7030NS's bulbs have two tough outers scale leaves each with an attractive shiny, deep red to purple colour.  SV7030NSis a vigorous grower with a high yield potential and good bolting tolerance.  In addition, SV7030NShas high resistance to the soil borne fungal pathogen, pink root (Phoma terrestrissyn. Pyrenochaeta terrestris)and intermediate resistance to Fusarium basal plate rot (Fusarium oxysporumf. sp. cepae). SV7030NSis suitable for direct seeding as well as seedling transplants.

MATURITY: Medium, 21 to 25 weeks after direct seeding. Maturity depends on sowing date, production location and seasonal variations (photoperiod and temperature)
BULB SHAPE: Globe to high globe
BULB SIZE: Medium to large (55 95 mm) bulb size is influenced by the plant population
BULB UNIFORMITY (SHAPE AND SIZE): Very good
BULB NECK SIZE AND QUALITIES: Medium to small (thin) and tight
BULB FIRMNESS: Firm
BULB TUNIC (SKIN/SCALE LEAF) COLOUR: Excellent bulb skin colour: shiny, deep red to purple
TUNIC RETENTION AND QUALITY: Very good and tough mutiple outer scale leaves reduce bruises during transportation
