KOM SAAM OP 'N 4X4-AVONTUUR! Sarea se naam beteken "prinses" en sy het boonop lieflike, lang hare om by die prentjie te pas. Sy het egter nie prins of kind of kraai nie. Francois Richter is moeg vir die bedorwe brokkies wat sy 4x4-toere met hul eindelose fiemies omvergooi. Prinsesse, noem hy hulle, want hulle verbeel hulle hul is koninklik en almal moet na hul pype dans. As daar weer 'n "prinses" op een van sy toere beland, laai hy haar summier langs die pad af, dreig hy. Vir Sarea se vyf-en-dertigste verjaarsdag kry sy 'n 4x4-veldtoer by haar suster present. So beland sy met haar prinsesnaam en haar prinseshare by Francois in sy viertrekvoertuig, vir twee weke. Hy kan haar seker nie regtig langs die pad aflaai nie, want die toere betaal sy beeste se voer vir solank as wat die droogte voortduur. Boonop is hy heeltemal te ordentlik om so iets te doen. Miskien is sy ook nie eintlik so vol nukke soos hy gevrees het nie. Sarea is maar te bly Francois is nie 'n droë ou bokkom wat langs elke bossie op sy stapkiere leun en dan 'n uur lank oor plantspesies uitwei nie. Eintlik is hy nogal heel skaflik, met sy lang, fikse lyf en donker hare. Sy sou selfs 'n bietjie van hom kon hou, as dit nie was vir die aantreklike, gesofistikeerde Egbert wat in die Kaap vir haar wag nie...
