Swatch Sistem51 Automatic (2014) 19 Jewel Swiss Automatic. An innovative piece of Swiss engineering. When it was introduced in 2013, it was the first fully automated mechanical watch movement. The red dots on the dial correspond to the jewel positions in the movement, which is a distinctive design feature of the Sistem51 collection. The movement itself was a major innovation because it consists of just 51 parts, assembled entirely by machine, with 19 synthetic ruby jewels and an impressive 90-hour power reserve.
The original plastic-cased Sistem51 movement was designed as a sealed, highly automated movement and wasn't intended to be serviced in the traditional way. Swatch originally described it as having a projected lifespan of about 20 years.
That does not mean it automatically stops working after 20 years. Some may run considerably longer; others may develop problems sooner. So, in simple terms: no battery to replace; wear or wind it to power it.
Keeps accurate time and in very good to excellent condition.
