Irmelie Krekin flew to South Africa in late August 1999. She is considered one of Sweden's foremost experimental style and fashion photographers. At the same time, Zwelethu Mthethwa, renowned artist and teacher of photography and painting at the Michaelis Art School in Cape Town, made the trip to Sweden. They had both been given the open mission to photograph people and environments in cities, suburbs and in the countryside. The two photographers had access to guides and drivers who proposed itineraries but they were free to deviate from the plan or to propose other schedules. A week later, Krekin and Mthethwa returned home. . The photo essays are simple but distinct evidence of individual encounters and pictures of private lives.". (Stockholm: Futurniture and Rikta Kommunikation, 1999), 1999.
