The sword is engraved on both sides of the blade. "Sword of Honour Presented to Cadet T. Rhodes by the Minister of Defence" on the one side and "Eresabel Geskenk aan Kadet T. Rhodes deun die Minister van Verdediging" on the other side. The Ridge of the Sword is enscribed "South African Military College/Suid Afrikaanse Militere Kollege"
The engraving on the sword is faint due to cleaning/pollishing.
Cadet T.Rhodes qualified as a Pilot with the SAAF during WWII.
